Itinéraire de la visite

  • 1 Discover the Beauty of Aswan During your Nile Cruise

Upon arrival at Aswan airport or train station, our representative will meet and greet you there, transferring you to your hotel by luxurious air-conditioned vehicle, to mark the beginning of your 4-day journey with the Royal Viking Nile Cruise from Aswan to Luxor. After lunch, begin your Aswan sightseeing tours with your first visit to the Aswan High Dam, constructed in 1960 to protect Egypt from the annual surges of the Nile River.

Next on the list will be the Unfinished Obelisk, made of red granite, which is known to be commonly used in major monuments like the pyramid of Mycerinus and the Valley Temple of King Chephren. Another very famous obelisk is associated with Queen Hatshepsut, one of the queens who reigned over Egypt during the 18th dynasty of the New Kingdom in the history of ancient Egypt. She was the wife of King Tuthmosis II and the very first woman to ever have ruled the land. Some consider this obelisk to be associated with Queen Nefertiti, the wife of King Akhenaten, but there is as yet no evidence to support such a theory.

Your Aswan tours will also include a visit to the Temple of Philae. This temple was devoted to Isis, the chief goddess of magic, and located on the island of Agilika, having been transferred from Philae Island when the High Dam was built. After that you will be transferred back to the cruise to have your dinner accompanied by the welcome drink offered by the captain of the ship.

    Meals: Lunch, Dinner.

  • 2 Kom Ombo and Edfu Temples

Breakfast will be served aboard the cruise followed by a morning visit to Kom Ombo to see the temple of Sobek. This very unusual symmetrical temple features two entries, two hypostyle halls, and two sanctuaries and is dedicated to two ancient gods in Egypt. The left side is dedicated to the god of the falcon, Horus, with the right temple dedicated to the local crocodile-headed divinity, Sobek—one of the figures of evil in ancient Egyptian religion.

Sail on to Edfu and lunch on board the cruise ship. After this, you will be transferred to visit the Temple of Edfu, dedicated to God Horus, who was the son of Osiris and the protector of kingship. This is the most well-preserved temple among the temples in Egypt and was called the House of Ra, the father of all gods during the Pharaonic era. Then you will sail towards Luxor and have your dinner on board.

    Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.

  • 3 Luxor East Bank Tours

Enjoy a delicious breakfast on board the Royal Viking Nile Cruise. Following lunch, visit Luxor Temple, such an impressive building constructed during the New Kingdom era. This temple is linked with the Karnak Temple by an avenue of sphinxes and was built by two great pharaohs: Amenhotep III and Ramses II. After lunch, visit the Temple of Karnak, the largest and most important religious center of the New Kingdom on the East Bank of Luxor. This will round off the day with dinner aboard the cruise ship and overnight in Luxor. Meals:

    Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.

  • 4 Luxor West Bank Tours

Enjoy your final breakfast on board this luxurious 5-star Nile cruise.

You will have the optional opportunity for a hot air balloon ride in Luxor.

Following disembarkation, start off your exciting Luxor west bank tours with your very first visit to the Valley of the Kings, where pharaohs of the New Kingdom were buried in rock-cut tombs to protect them from robbers.

Next, you will be taken to the beautiful Temple of Hatshepsut, quite a different temple compared with the others, built by the friend of the famous Queen Hatshepsut, who was considered to be an architect of genius, Senmout.

Then, there will be a stop to see the gigantic Colossi of Memnon depicting King Amenhotep III in two huge statues.

Next, you will be transferred to the airport, train station, or any destination of your choice in Luxor for your drop-off.

    Meals: Breakfast.
