Giza Pyramids, Saqqara and Memphis from Port Said

Memphis

The city of Memphis or Men Nefer is the first capital of Egypt dating back to 3200 BC. It was founded by King Narmer to the south of Cairo and it is one of the World Heritage Sites. Memphis is like a big Open Museum that houses a lot of monuments such as the huge statue of Ramses II, and the Triad of Memphis Ptah, Mut, and Khonsu. Also, you can see a sarcophagus, a big alabaster Sphinx, steles, and a lot of statues.

Saqqara Step Pyramid

The Step Pyramid complex at Saqqara is a complex of the surrounding wall, the southern tomb, the house of the north, and the house of the south. Also, the famous Serdab where we found the first stone life-size statue for Djoser, and the Step Pyramid itself.

Unas Pyramid

A very famous Pyramid in Saqqara even if it looks in ruin but Unas Pyramid is the most fascinating Pyramid from the inside with its Pyramid texts. The ruins of the Causeway and the Valley Temple still can be seen. You will also visit Idut tomb, an amazing small tomb with very beautiful scenes for the princess Idut smelling Lotus flower.

Giza Pyramids

You will visit the Giza Pyramids which is the most visited area in Egypt and among the top Egypt attractions. The Pyramids of Giza include the Pyramid of Cheops, the Chephren Pyramid, and the Menkaure Pyramid. Besides, the small Queen Pyramids, and the tombs of the Pyramid builders.

Cheops Pyramid

The Great Pyramid is the only wonder of the old wonders and you can go inside it if you like. Cheops Pyramid faces the biggest star in the ORION BELT constellation and still needs a lot of studies.

Menkaure Pyramid

Menkaure Pyramid is the smallest among the Giza Pyramids Complex standing at a height of about 65 meters. Unlike the Great Pyramid of Giza, Menkaure Pyramid has its casing from red granite and three subsidiary pyramids along its southern base. Indeed, its burial chamber contains a red granite sarcophagus but no mummy.

Valley Temple

The Valley temple of Chephren connects the causeway to the Purification temple and the Pyramid. It plays a great role in the burial rituals and ceremonies associated with the deceased pharaoh such as mummification and Opening of the Mouth. The famous diorite statue of Khafre was found there.

The Great Sphinx

The best end of your Port Said shore excursions is the great Sphinx and the guard of the area. Here, you can look at this massive statue with a human head and lion body and you can see the Dream Stele between its paws.
