Tour itinerary

Day 1 Cairo

Golavita Travel Egypt representative will greet and assist you through immigration and customs formalities at Cairo airport. Your guide will join you in our modern new brand vehicle to your hotel in Cairo to check-in.

Day 2 Cairo and Giza

First stop will be at the Giza Pyramids complex where you will be face to face with one of the seven wonders of the ancient world, the Great Pyramid of Cheops. Compare between Cheops Pyramid and Khafre Pyramid in size and look at the white sandstone casing of the second pyramid, you will see Saqqara Pyramid and Dahshour Pyramids from the Panorama. If you like, stop by the small Pyramid of Menkaure and see the Granite cover and the entrance. End your Giza Pyramids Complex tour at the Mummification temple of Khafre and the Great Sphinx.

Lunch: Enjoy a freshly cooked lunch at a local restaurant before you proceed your trip to the next stop

The Grand Egyptian Museum will be your next stop. The biggest Egyptian Museum all over the world right now and it houses the collections of Tutankhamun for the first time together in one place.

Day 3 Alexandria

Enjoy your delicious breakfast at the hotel and start your day to the Capital of Egypt for about 800 years, Alexandria. Start your tour with Pompey Pillar and Serapeum, one of the largest hard stone columns in the world, Pompey Pillar standing at 26 meters high. Unfortunately, the Serapeum is totally destroyed and it’s in ruins and once it was the acropolis of the city dedicated to Serapis. The go to the Catacomb of Kom El Shoqafa, the best place where you can see the mix of the Greek, Roman and Egyptian cultures. One of the best things to do in Alexandria is to visit the legendary Alexandria Library. Enjoy a guided tour to the library and learn what happened to the old one when Alexandria was burnt to the ground by Julius Caesar. Explore Qaitbay Citadel from outside

Lunch: Enjoy your lunch in a local restaurant in Alexandria and try the tasty fish or choose your favorite dishes. At the end of the day, we will drive back to Cairo railways station to board the sleeper train to Luxor.

Day 4 Luxor

Upon arrival, your guide will join you to visit Luxor attractions on the east side of the Nile River such as Luxor temple and Karnak temple. Then your guide will help you to check-in at your Nile Cruise then lunch and free time at your own leisure till next morning.

Day 5 Luxor - Esna- Edfu

Breakfast on board the Nile cruise then start your Luxor tour to the west bank attractions such as Valley of the Kings. You will visit the tombs of the Pharaohs during the New Kingdom including Tutankhamun tomb. Also, you will enter 3 tombs and know about the life of the ancient kings such as Merenptah, Ramesses II, Ramesses III, Seti I, and the female Pharaohs such as Hatshepsut and Tausret.

The Mortuary temple of Hatshepsut is one of the best things to do in Luxor for its unique design and reliefs. El Deir El Bahari temple for Hatshepsut is one of the Mortuary temples built in the 18th dynasty and good wat to know about festivals in ancient Egypt. The temple is surrounded by the tombs of Nobles including Senenmut tomb. End your day tour to Luxor west bank with the Colossi of Memnon for the king Amenhotep III. At the end of the tour, you will go back to the Nile Cruise for lunch and sail to Edfu via Esna Lock.

Day 6 Edfu - Kom Ombo - Aswan

Early visit to Horus temple (Edfu temple) with horse carriage. Edfu temple is one of the best-preserved temples in Egypt. The struggle between Horus and Seth, and the holy marriage between Hathor of Dendera and Horus of Edfu are found here. Enjoy your visit then back to the Cruise for breakfast and sail towards Kom Ombo. Short visit to the only double temple in Egypt known as Kom Ombo temple. Everything in this temple is duplicated and more than 300 mummified crocodiles were found here. Plus, the most beautiful Nilometer, and Sanatorium of the temple. Back to the Cruise for dinner and sail to Aswan for overnight.

Day 7 Aswan

Optional tour to Abu Simbel against charge early morning or free morning at your own leisure. Lunch on board then visit Aswan attractions such as Nubian Village to know more about the history of Nubians and their colorful houses. Then back to the cruise for overnight.

Day 8 Aswan - Cairo

Enjoy the last breakfast on board then start your Aswan sightseeing tours such as High Dam. Egypt built two dams between 1898 and 1971 known as the Low Dam and Aswan High Dam. Also, the High Dam created Lake Nasser and caused displacement of Nubia and the loss of historical sites such as Kalabsha temple, Abu Simbel and many others. At the end of your tour, you will proceed to Philae temple. ISIS temple is one of the best Pharaonic temples in Egypt built during the Greco Roman Period. Enjoy the beautiful Mammisi, the Kiosk of Trajan, Hathor Chapel, and the Nilometer before you end your Aswan day tour.

Day 9 final departure

Breakfast at the sleeper train and upon arrival, we will drive you direct to Cairo airport for final departure.
